Solar Flares and Hot Spots

Most industrial and commercial HVAC systems weren’t designed with racks of servers in mind. If you’re looking for a low-cost, effective strategy to keep temperatures even and help keep your cool, then you should consider ZOO Fans.

These small, quiet, energy-efficient fans, are specially designed to improve air circulation and eliminate hot and cold spots by creating even temperatures from floor-to-ceiling and wall-to-wall. Aim them at problem areas and dissipate heat—up to 7-8°F—and use them to improve the performance of existing HVAC systems in open areas and in racking.

Often used to noticeably improve comfort in the zone of occupancy, where most people live and work—ZOO Fans are equally adept at keeping servers “comfortable.” Their patented design delivers a column of air that can be targeted over a longer distance. Superior engineering delivers unmatched performance. And helps everybody to keep their cool.

Spot Cooling and Improved HVAC Performance

ZOO Fans smooth out the wrinkles in existing HVAC systems, and are a low-cost, effective strategy for eliminating hot and cold spots. To cool the warmest spots, expensive-to-operate condensers, and multi-horsepower blowers must run longer than necessary to ensure that these hard-to-reach locations remain cool.

Shift the task of air circulation to ZOO Fans and let these small, energy-efficient, fractional horsepower fans mix the air more thoroughly and effectively at a lower cost. With even temperatures from floor-to-ceiling and wall-to-wall, thermostats are satisfied more quickly and longer, problem areas are eliminated, and HVAC systems run less.

Equipment that doesn’t run as hard will also require less-frequent maintenance, and have a longer service life.

And with AC, it’s likely that the juice you’re saving is electricity, not natural gas. That means that even savings of 10-15% deliver a very fast ROI. That’s a great return for keeping things running more smoothly!

Five Nines Uptime

In addition to improving HVAC performance during regular operations, ZOO Fans are an excellent back-up system to centralized HVAC. Combined with portable or localized AC units, ZOO Fans distribute conditioned air quickly and completely. With their low power draw, these efficient, effective fans are easy to keep running.

In fact, ZOO Fans are so efficient and effective at distributing and circulating conditioned air that some of our retail customers have eliminated ducting entirely in their new facilities, relying instead on fans to distribute the air.

Easy to Install, Easy to Control

Open Ceiling & Drop Ceiling

From 8’ to 50’ for Drop Ceilings, and 8’ to 100+’ for Open Ceilings, ZOO Fans will provide reliable, proven performance. Operate them individually, or in zones; manually or automatically via the Building Management System.

Just “set them and forget them,” or use sensors to measure the temperature at the ceiling and the floor, calculate the temperature difference (“delta T”), and speed-up or slow-down the fans to keep the temperature balanced. ZOO Fans ensure that air reaches all the corners and aisles, and maintain the consistent conditions needed to eliminate trouble spots.

Wired or wireless, ZOO Fans are easy to install and easy to control.
