Architects & Engineers
At ZOO Fans, we believe it is important for you to have accurate and reliable performance numbers. We have created a dedicated page just for Architects & Engineers so you have easy access to all the information you need to help you with your designs. We know you base your design, and often your reputation, on the accuracy of this data. This is why we are proud to be the ONLY small destratification fan manufacturer to provide proven, independent testing of our fans from an AMCA certified lab.
Destratification Fan CFD Video
Created by a third-party engineering firm, the thermal images in this video are from a CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) computer model of a ZOO Fan H30 destratification fan mounted one foot below the flat ceiling of a 40′ X 40′ X 25′ high space with a ceiling-mounted heat source and a thermostat affixed 5′ above the floor, set at 70°F. The first images depict the stratification that occurs in such a heated space. Then the ZOO Fan destratification fan is turned on and the simulation shows how the conditioned air is mixed until, at the end, its temperature is close to uniform throughout. THe HVAC system runs less while thermal comfort is maintained.
